18THC DERBY APPLE GREEN TRIO BILLINGSLEY ROSES PATTERN 373 C.1790 PUCE MARK CUP TEA BOWL & SAUCER
Stunning early Derby porcelain trio comprising tea bowl, coffee cup and saucer. Each piece has an apple green border within a gilded frame and dotted with Billingsley type roses. A further gilded band decorates each piece and the coffee cup has very pretty detailing down the handle which is also fully framed in gold.
Puce mark to each piece and pattern number 373. This number is recorded quite early in the pattern book Tea Book II and so dates from c.1790.
The saucer measures 5″ wide and 1″ high. The cup is 2 5/8″ high, 2 5/8″ rim to rim and 3 1/2″ rim to handle and the tea bowl is 2w” high and 3 1/4″ wide. Condition is excellent with very little surface wear to any of the pieces, just the odd flake to the gilded ring in the centre of the saucer and and a very small amount of wear to the gilded rims in places.
